Last updated: 2026-10-09. This describes the current stateless version of the service.
When you use Grant Finder, your MCP client sends tool inputs (search terms, optional applicant type, opportunity IDs) to this service so it can query the official Grants.gov API on your behalf. We do not ask for or process names, addresses, SSNs, EINs, SAM.gov or Login.gov credentials, banking information, or tax documents.
We keep minimal operational logs (timestamps, request IDs, tool names, error categories) plus the tool inputs themselves (search terms, applicant type, opportunity IDs) so we can keep the service reliable and improve result quality. Logs never contain your full ChatGPT conversation or any personal information you did not send as a tool input.
The service is stateless: it has no database and does not store searches, results, or profiles between requests. Rate-limit counters are held in memory only and expire within minutes.
Tool inputs are forwarded to the official Grants.gov public API
(api.grants.gov) to retrieve opportunity data. Review the Grants.gov privacy policy
for how that site handles requests.
